Front body mount CHOP!
Many people increasing to 285's without a lift are experiencing rubbing issues on the front body mount.
So tonight I decided to chop it away... Here are the pics.... Oh yeah, measure TWICE and cut ONCE...unless your me. I started with a small cut, then realized, Im better off cutting MORE then LESS.... |

does cutting so close to that bushing cause any structural problens in that area? and did welding it melt the rubber...I am going to go look under mine and see if I am feeling as ambitious as you....would you please post some photos with the new tires?

Welding did tweak the 1st side a bit....I used too thin of a tape, and it caught fire for a moment or two..On the 2nd side, I used a super-thick rubber tape, and that worked great. No discoloring or anything to that side. No new tires, YET...should be in this week. |
