bright lights would be very cool , but would you have to change plastic lens due to heat from brighter bulb?

If you get brighter lights, I would recommend putting them on a seperate switch or rheostat. That way you can have them DRL or Offroad bright depending on the situation.

You don't want to blind oncoming traffic or get ticketed.

Those mirror lights would be cool on the trail, esp if you mod to crank some real light out of 'em

If they where bright enough they would also be nice for spotting deer when night driving, but I guess they would have to be pretty bright for that. Are they angled toward the side a bit or are they streight on?

What kind of bulbs are in there from the factory? If I know this I can check with superbrightleds.com and see what they can do.

Just wait until they come out with a 3w luxeon 187. You will definetly need a switch. Someone will eventually make a clear lens that will work in this application.

so today i went to see my FJ (its at the dealership, but they have to dealer prep it...which apparently will take until monday), and i asked the dealer about it. listen to this. the lights on the mirrors are not for you, they are for other drivers. because the lights on the grille are somewhat close together, the lights on the mirror are to help other drivers know how wide the FJ actually is, and not make a bonehead move and think they'll narrowly miss your car.

Never thought of that. In that case, I guess I want them brighter, that way they stay FAR away from me.
