What size back-spacing???

I just received my RevTek lift and will be getting my FJ in about two more weeks. Does anyone know how large of backspacing you can go with??? The guys at RevTek said you need at least 4 1/2 to clear the 33 x 12.50's but I wanted a little more to give it a widder stance. Thanks in advance!

I used 3.75" backspacing on my Walker Evans wheels. I like the wider stance, it's more stable, and helps to protect the body when in the rocks.

There are pictures on our website, allprooffroad.com, but I'll see if we can get some different ones posted up here today.

Hey JonB, you previously mentioned that you were planning on installing 35's. How's that coming along? Do you think that there will be any problems in terms of rubbing? etc?

I installed 35x12.5x17 BFG Mud-Terrains last week. I went to Big Bear with some friends over the weekend and ran the Dishpan Springs trail. The front never rubbed with the coil-overs set at 3" lift. I did clearance the body mount as a lot of people are doing. The rear did rub some when I was twisting it up.I'm waitig on some new springs to come in to raise the rear up another inch. I tried OME 895's but they ride so stiff that I couldn't stand it and took them off. The offroad capability is much improved with the 35's over the 33's so I'm keeping them on for sure.

That's a nice setup. I am very interested in it. How was the performance of the tires on the highway/road? I cant wait to see what you do with the rig. The OME's were stiff huh? Keep us posted and please let us know how the setup progresses!
