XM sounds not so good

For those of you with XM in your FJ. What are your thoughts about the XM sound quality? Compared to the cd changer and the ipod, XM sounds "tinny" and not good. I have never had XM before, maybe it is just the way XM sounds. I have Sirius in other cars so I'm used to sat radio. The FJammer doesn't sound terrible when using other sources, but the XM is weak. My plan is to swap the XM for Sirius when Toyota makes it available and maybe it will sound better.

Thoughts...

sounds like an issue with the way its hooked up or a setting..

My Add on XM in my trucks had to be fine tuned in the settings to sound good.. but in a Factory setup it should sound good..

XM will sound just as good as Serius when hooked up properly..

It came from Toyota installed. Do you think it might be a bad connection?

Toyota is aware of the XM issue. They have identified it as a "wave equallization" problem between the XM receiver and the FJammer radio (head unit). They are in the process of releasing a new head unit to fix the problem. It should be available in the next couple of months. Talk to your dealer about it. If they are unable to help you have them talk to their product specialist at Toyota. The product specialist should know what's going on. This is a relatively big issue for Toyota.

I have a buddy that runs the local service department and we have been working on this issue for the last two months. He is the one that I get my information from... Hang tight as the fix is on the way.
