FJ vs. JEEP or behind enemy lines,

FJ vs. JEEP or behind enemy lines,

For those who ask to keep you informed of the TT activities…The East FJ Trail Team spent the weekend at Rockport IL. Southern Illinois Jeep Jamboree. While it did not put to rest the continues question of what vehicle is better, though us Toyota guys already know the answer and beside what else would off-roaders have to talk about, the forum will be happy to know we made Team Toyota proud. The first day was met with a tentative acceptance by the end of the weekend that turns into sincere appreciation. Once they understood we were not there to convert perceived heathens but just to do some wheeling like everyone else, the fun begin. By the time they saw the FJ in action and the skills of Matt, Maureen and Tim we were no longer outsiders but just the people with that FJ; “Funky Jeep”. It was not the passion as the Hoosier Cruisers showed us, and even though they are “Jeepsters”, by and large a bunch of great people. And I may add smart enough to appreciate a great rig like the FJ Cruiser, even if it isn’t a jeep.[/font]

Rubi is a great truck but I have yet to see where the FJ didnt keep up. While you do get a front locker on the Rubi what you dont get is Toyota quality and the ability to enjoy it as a DD.

I've owned both. I recently (3 weeks ago) sold my 03 Rubicon on Ebay (Ebay number 4627255390) It was sold from newspaper before the 1st bid was placed on Ebay for 16.5K.

I liked the Rubicon alot and I had it in all kinds of terrain. I treated it badly in some instances, and thought I was going to do serious damage just getting back home, but it faired well and held together in every case. My Point: I loved the Rubicon.

Up to now, I like the FJC even better. I've not had it in exactly the same terrain and don't plan to for a while....(It's NEW), but I plan to take it out this weekend for some trials...and trails.
I have had it in the Rocks near the Grand Canyon and it did great.

All in all, I like the FJC better, and if you read the report (FJC on the Rubicon Trail from the front page of this website (with pictures), you'll see that it has done some amazing things.

My opnion: I like both the Rubicon and FJC, I'm glad I have the FJC, and only time will tell how it holds up.

I am more of a pavement pounder anyway, so I am sure
the FJ is the better choice for me.
Does it have a nice quiet ride ?
