fj cruiser trail team

this weekend my son, two nephews and myself had the pleasure to joing the central trail team made up of robbie, chris, jeremey and troy. we ran with them with the high desert cruisers out of albuquerque. it was my first time meeting the gentleman, and i must so they are a great bunch to wheel with. they met us saturday morning with gifts in hand, and quickly let us know that the weekend was all about us, whenever we wanted to drive the new fj no problem just speak up, any trail we would like to go on no problem let"S go. when manuevering the trails and they rode along side in the passenger seat they were very calming and encouraging thru out the event. i would love to drive with them in the future and thanks so much for your time. see you on the trail.
if robbie happens to read this i need the email address for jeremey.

Weekends with the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams are fun. They let you take their new trucks and do this with it.

FJ Trail Team Question

I am new to this forum and wanted some information on how you can attend an FJ Trail Team event. I attended the Off Road Expo in SLC this past week. Got my pic taken with the FJ's and such. I was told about the upcoming even in Moab and that all I had to do was register online. I found a schedule but no such registration. Can I just show up and drive? I am very interested but don't want to drive to Moab just to watch them.

Thanks,
Darren

Some events like CM06 you have to registar for in advance. I beleive that Cruise Moab is currently filled up and will not take any one else. But if you want to make sure go to www.risingsun4x4club.org and look to see if registraion is still open. If not look at the calander on line at the FJ crusier web site and see what other event may be close to you. Or contact a local chapter of the TLCA and find out if a event is planned for your area in the near future.
Good luck in this hunt for a event near you. later robbie

To learn more about the Trail Teams, go to www.fjtrailteams.com (it's actually part of the Toyota site, but this address will allow you to avoid all of the clicking and searching you'd have to do if you just typed in www.toyota.com ).

Confused

Thanks for the replies but now I am quite confused. It does say it is full, but it will let me still register as they have cancellations. The confusing part is that it asks me to pay $95 to register and says I get a shirt, dinner on Friday, club registration, etc. I won't be there on Fri and don't even have an FJ yet. I want to go, as I am considering buying one. Is this really what I have to do on the chance that I might get in? Anyone know if all the events are like this? When is the next Moab event after this?

Thanks,
Darren

if you check fjtrailteams.com, you'll be able to see when they may be in your area again...odds are, it won't only be for this one event (tho their schedule doesn't go to far in advance)

Darren,
Cruise Moab is a really big deal in the Toyota off-roading world. It is not an event exclusive to the FJ Cruiser. There will be ~200 trucks from all over the US at CM06.

If all you want is an opportunity to drive the FJC off-road then you would be better off finding a local event in your area.

I currently don't own an off-road vehicle but live in Utah a few hours from Moab. Hence, I am looking into the FJ Cruiser. With learning of the presence of the FJ Trail Teams philosophy of letting people drive it off road and try it out, I thought it would be a great opportunity to try one and decide if that is the direction I wish to go. I just can't seem to determine how to actually get in on an event. Being that I don't own the necessary vehicle, it seems like a waste to join the club, just to essentially participate in a test drive (even if it is off-road).

Thanks Again,
Darren

even if you don't register, CM is a great event, and you'd be welcome to ride shotgun with just about anyone there....pop into the Trail Rides corner and I"ll wager you'll find some one you can bag a passenger seat with for the day, and work in a chance to test the FJC as well.

Absolutely! Each person on the trail ride does have to pay BLM fees but that would be a no hassle issue easily taken care of.

So if I am understanding you correctly, you guys seem to think that if I just show up, there is a good chance that I would be able to at least ride in one if not actually drive one? I guess that wouldn't be my first choice but definitely better than nothing, All the dealers around here won't even let me ride in one unless I put down a sizable deposit.

thanks,
Darren
