My dilema.. help in here.

Ok here is the deal.

I put down the deposit for my FJ about 1 month ago. I was 4th on the list. Now I am 1st because some people have dropped out.

Though my dealer(Leith Toyota Raleigh, NC) is not getting any MT6 for the next 2-4 months. They have 9 allocated; 4 of them being 4x2 ATs and the other 5 4x4 ATs. I really wanted the MT6 although I am not exactly sure if I am really going to need it that bad. I've always driven a manual, but the fact of waiting another 2 extra months seems unbearable at this point.
I wont be doing a lot of off roading, every other week to mid-difficulty trails, camp out at the beach. That sorta thing. But I'd say 70% of the time I'll be doing on-road driving. I do not have any kids just a gf that would not drive the FJ or any car I get that often.

My other option is a 4x4 V6 Tacoma with the Off-road Package. MT6 as well.

Here's my dilema. Get the Tacoma or the AT FJ Cruiser.

If you guys need any more details to recomend anything please ask

Pardon the ignorance, but what is an "MT6"?

If you intended on getting the FJ, I would stick it out and wait for what I wanted. I mean, it is a lot of dough to slap down on a vehicle and if you plan on keeping it for a long time, it would definatly be worth the wait.

Get the FJ Cruiser. There are tons of Tacomas.

Get them to trade it out with another dealer. Leith has connections. Make them work for you. Tell them that you will go to Durham or Fred Anderson.

Once you get it, set up a time in Raleigh for all us Cruiser guys to check it out.

Can you get your deposit back and buy from another NC dealer? My dealer has some on the lot and more coming in frequently. Claims to be one of the biggest volume dealers in NC / SC - don't know how accurate that is but if FJ allocation is done that way, seem to be accurate based on what I am reading.

PM for contact info - I am in Charlotte.

Hold On!
The FJ is worth the wait. I had mine on order for ten months. I have a 4X4, silver, manual and loaded and have been driving it a week now. A month or so from now you will be happy that you hung in there for what you really want.

I agree with the others suggesting that you wait for what you want. 8 years from now the 2-4 months you had to wait for what you really wanted won't matter.

I'm kind of doing the same thing. Patience is hard but in the long run I know I'll be happy I was hardheaded & waited.
