Not sure how many miles are on Sol's, but I remember when he tried to sell it a couple years back. His was a very good deal, especially after adding up how much I have into mine.

At this point, I'm not building.

Going to finish the one I've got (rear axle, lockers, re gear) and continue poking around for a 40s, 60s, and 80s.

With very conservative numbers materials and considering buying the FJC for 8k, looking at well over a total of $30k to do it right. That's a lot of investment "just because I want to", and would go a long way towards any of the other three.

My kids hate the back seat of the FJC.

Not only would it be reasonable cost wise, it would keep it very Toyota and almost OE like. Actually this is just how they should come from the factory. At least for 2010+ toyota upgraded the rear axle, but not by a long shot. Too bad they didnt just use the 9.5. Oh well, another new application we already have gears for too.

Still would need to address the bearing issue that Toyota requires for it's ABS system and speedometer. A housing would need to be custom machined to accept the bearing and have the FJ Cruiser axle flange welded onto it. Those bearings are pressed onto the axle shaft assembly and bolted on. And unfortunately they are not the same left and right due to the bolt pattern.

I'm not sure I'm tracking what you're saying ...a buddy of mine and I just recently used stock 05' 4Runner axles and outers in a Diamond housing with a LC 3rd. All bolted right in with Diamond's outer flanges for the FJ/4runners.

Also just swapped in a Currie's FJ dana 60 in a 4th Gen 4runner using the stock outers and the sensors and all swapped right over. Both are viable options.
