when my poor ass gets out of college I plan on getting one........... given it is not everything I had hoped it would be, but with the other options out there being well a HEEP or Xterra, I would much rather have the FJCruiser than the alternative........ as for everyone of you old farts bitching about how it is not anything like what a landcruiser should be or the old FJ40, the time for that type of vehicle is long gone in this country things change just accept it

I know I would much rather have the FJCruiser than a 100 series anyday. The FJCruiser is much closer to the FJ40 Ideal(an afforable and capable offroad vehicle) than the mall Cruisers running around out there today. I am glad to see Toyota has come out with a vehicle that will actually compete with the Heeps share of the market. Also look at it this way; it is better than what toyota was offering before in the area of a Heep competitor, which was.............nada

I like the RAV-5 idea. It kinda looks like an FJ55 so why not RAV-55?

My wife has a Tahoe. It is perfect for her.
If H2 is nothing more than a fancy suburban with a factory electric rear locker and better suspension doesn't that sound like a good thing???

kinda like the Jeep rubicon, a TJ only better..

My point is this. If you think they are ugly then okay.. Until one hits the dealership floor nothing in the design specs is cast in stone
Ok, Ill byte. How is the H2 different from a suburban. Its the same frame, the same running gear, the same engine! So you get an electric locker. You can put one in a suburban for a lot less money than the H2 upgrade!

Ever tried to four wheel an H1 in Washington state? Forget it. The thing is the size of the empire state building. They are TURBO over priced (and under powered) for their usefullness.

I dont like the new FJ, but good for Toyota for making it. Ill never buy one.

Now start importing the HDJ/HZJ/BJ-74 into the USA to battle the TJ Rubicon and I'll buy one yesterday!

Hell, Ill buy TWO!

That at least is a 4x you can use.

Ummm...ya...He was saying the H2 and Suburban were the same...it is a 'Burban with a Hummer look a like body on it....

And...he also said the H1 is perfect for what it was designed for....which last time I checked WASN'T four wheeling in Washington state!!

Actually the frame is a Tahoe/Yukon.. Burban frame is longer

I wheel a hummer all the time. I know their strengths and weaknesses. Really I do
Broke it the first week of wheelin it

HOWEVER, if I can get a 4 runner running gear in a slightly smaller package AND pay between 20 and 28K for it with a locker in the rear.. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me..

I don't mind the looks. kinda wished some things were different but heck, I think everyone does

the reason Toyota will never bring the 70 series into the US is bacuase of safety requirements. It is a cost benefit thing. Like the D90...

Besides, they can not justify the 100's of cruisers sold. They want tens of thousands

Tacoma because it's a fricken Tacoma.
Tha article I read in the paper said that it will be produced in Japan.

"Well since in its two tone incarnation it looks Pig-like , what about .. BACON ?"

"Tell me this doesn't carry at least a few styling queues from an FJ55?"

Lets not insult all the wonderful pigs out there by comparing it in any way to this piece of crap.

It's not insulting at all. Like I said in the Photochop thread, the more any Cruiser looks like a Pig, the better it looks!
