Changed Passenger side plugs today....

The driver's bank looks to be a challenge, what needs to come off to get the igniters and the plugs out?
The plugs have 72K on them and the FJ was running fine.
The plugs were alittle burned on one side.........gm

There are a couple hoses that have to be disconnected... don't remember which ones off the top of my head though. It should be fairly apparent when you get into it though. Make sure you've got long enough socket extensions for the driver's side plugs.

There are two brackets that have to come off and some hoses that would be in the way but there did not appear to be enough clearance to bring the igniters out.

Having the TRD CAI really makes this job a breeze...

The #2 bank required removing the engine shroud cover, the 2 brackets for the intake and moving a couple of hoses around on the driver's side to allow you to get to everything.
I have the TRD Cold Air Injection so the #1 bank was a breeze.
Changing the plugs made the TRD/CAI a real bargain, every 30K is the plug change interval and not having to R&R the air filter canister saves alot of time.
As a foot note,I have had LC's for 20 years and this was the first time that I used the Toyota Spark plug wrench that comes with LC's and I was surprised at how easy and effective the Toyota spark plug wrench was with this truck.
Live and learn...............gm
