TRD Quickshift Lever Broken

My TRD Quickshift lever is broken. There's a rubberized connection where the two pieces of the shift lever meet that is extremely loose. I'm afraid to pull it apart for fear of causing more damage. The design of the connection appears similar to that of the OEM lever. Does anyone know if/how this can be fixed?
