What options to buy for FJC?

Hello, I am planning to buy FJC in about 2 - 3 months. Initially, I thought that I want to buy just the base FJC. However, since I live in the midwest (IL), most of dealers do not have the base. They all come at least with convenience package.

My questions to you are:
- For ATRAC & Locking Diff, should I buy them from the dealer? or that's something that I can add with "after market" product?
- Would you recommend me, what options to buy if I want to purchase FJC. For example is it worth it to buy TRD supercharger or there are better/cheaper alternative?

Thanks so much. btw, my ceiling is 28 - 29K.

From what I've heard, ATRAC can easily be added by installing the switch separately IF you already have the locking Diff and ABS/Traction Control.
If you plan to upgrade the suspension using aftermarket, then the off-road package probably isn't worth it (and it requires the convince package to go with it).

For 28K you should be able to get a fairly well loaded FJC or you could try to squeeze the dealer to throw in a supercharger as part of a package deal.

Or you could buy my TRD SE off me for $23k, and spend another $4K for a supercharger.

When I bought my FJ in March of 07 they were so popular I had to factory order it just to get a black one. I got to spec it out so i learned the packages fairly well. I wound up getting EVERYTHING except the front skid (junk), the spare tire cover (won't fit a bigger tire), the tow hitch and the passenger arm rest. The only thing i wish I had was the arm rest. The drivers one is useless, I would lean on the passenger one if I had it.

I would suggest getting the factory locker. The A Trac is a button, all trucks are wired for A Trac so just order the button, less than $50 if i recall. Get the roof rack, I have my Hi Lift on it and if you get a different rack down the road the stock racks are fairly well sought after and easy to sell. Plus, the FJ just looks weird without it IMO. I appreciate the upgraded FJammer stereo with the subwoofer and I don't think the Toyota sliders are worth it, get some trail gear sliders for $200. As for an FJ with the super charger, the previous poster ^^ is right, buy a gently used loaded FJ and slap a supercharger on it yourself, those suckers (blowers really) are expensive! Best of luck!! If you need a dealer recommendation PM me here or in the blue room and I will send you to where I factory ordered mine (Chicagoland area dealer).
