Tire thoughts? Today's prices are nuts!!!
Ok I just turned over 50k on my Nitto Terra Grappler P265/70R17's and they are officially done... Great tire zero problems on or off road with the exception of their AT limitation.
I would like a 285/70R17 MT or aggressive AT, however the $1000-$1400 price tag just for the tires is insane!!!
The 265's aren't much better $700 to $900 range even for another set of Nitto TG's which I paid $550 for just a couple years ago.
We all know BFG has released the new KM2's leaving one size in flux until October - the 32"/33" diameter with 17" rim. There are a few stores on eBay selling the BFG T/A MT KM LT255/75R17 set of 4 for less than $430.00 with free shipping!!!
Anyone run this tire? Opinions? Thoughts?

I don't need rims I just beat 'em up anyway. Those Mountaincats are some nice shoes and you probably want to get more than I'm willing to pay for tires right now...

Think Goodyear guys! If the MT/R's are too expensive, the Wrangler Duratrac is a great buy! I can vouch for it!

I just got a set of KM2 for $197 each, includes shipping, from Discount Tires Direct. They don't charge tax either.

Yea those MT's are in the $250+ per tire range...
Next week I think I'm going to go with the 255/75R17 BFG MT KM's at a cost of $425 for four (no tax or shipping), maybe next year I'll replace them with some 285/70R17 BFG MT KM2s.

I saw some Toyo MTs the other day on a rig.
They are very similar to the Dick Cepek MountainCats I am running.

I've been running the Toyo's on my FJ80 for a couple years now. Love them. So, decided to go with them on the FJ as well.

Well, I went with the 295-70R-17's. ($300 + range) At least I did it when my rig was down at Metal Tech in Oregon getting pimped. Saved on the sales tax

Alright it's finally done! Not the size I really wanted but I couldn't even buy highway treads at this price!
Found some BFG LT255/75R17 KM MT on an Ebay Store for $537 for 4x (I missed out on the $425 deal), had Discount Tire Direct beat that price by $10 with free shipping. DTD also has a BFG $70 rebate available until August 8th so I made out with 4x NEW MT tires for only $114.25 per tire!
Yea they aren't the 285/70 KM2's that I really wanted but hey for less than half the price I'll take 'em!
Now I just need to get them mounted and balanced in time to join the rest of the South Sound Cruisers on our overnight trip to Naches next weekend!

I went to Gary's Tire Factory across the street from Lowe's/Safeway in Lacey. They were about $5 less per tire than Discount.
