FJC Stock Steel Wheel - Bead Loss Issue

Just Curious How you guys have been doing with loosing beads on stock 17" FJC Steelies.

I have now lost a bead on Each Corner of my truck with mine, and im wondering if its an issue with the wheel in general, or just me

Please dont vote unless you have personal experience with this, or post links to relevant links on the net.

This is Only For those who Air Down (Under 15PSI or so). Please List Tire Size and PSI of your Issues..

I have never lost a bead on mine. I've got dents in the rims, but never lost a bead. Currently I'm on my third set of tires, Toyo Open Country MT in 285/75/17. I air down to 11-12 psi on the trail.

No..

Im Running 37's and Airing down to about 8-10 PSI. I have read one other instance where a guy was having issues losing beads on his FJC Steelies with some 34" Swampers.. so im just gathering a little data. and making a decision to either Add Beadlocks to these wheels, or Ditch them for a different set. id hate to add beadlocks to the outer lip, just to have issues losing the inner bead..

one other thing i noticed is that the paint Toyota used sucks, after a year of sitting outside the wheels are faded pretty bad

i guess its going to be hard to find others who are running big meats on these wheels, but let me know if you are running any larger Bias Ply Tires and having issues..

If you're running 37's....you ain't running an FJ.......

Other then that....8lbs is pushing the limit of the bead regardless of what you're running.....

I run at 14 lbs rock crawlin' in Az. and only lost a bead once.....under water/on rocks/spinnin' a wheel.....a quick ratchet strap and the power tank and I was on my way....

Sorry but I don't think the rims are the issue unless you have a set off a very early build FJ....and those were recalled as per previous post....
