I bought my FJ one year ago, the car is powerful and fun to drive especially when it's lifted. The only dislike is that it has many blind spots, however they can be solved.

Learn to use the side mirrors
Install Cameras (backup for starters)
I'm actually in the planning stages of hooking up a series of cameras and a DVR for trail guiding.
Front
Front Approach angle
Rear (backup)
Rear Departure
Under (Skid)
The blind spot(s) aren't so bad really when you use the backup sensor in conjunction with the side mirrors.
Just my .02$

On another forum, an FJ owner installed new convexed mirrors for the side mirrors. It has enhanced the sides view.

"my .02$" aka "my two cents"
It's an expression, in other words, "In my opinion"
Giving advice based on my personal taste and opinion.
It's a matter of subjectivity that the FJ has blindspots and what to do to "fix" them.

Thanks for the clarification
there's another dislike with the FJ, the wipers last longer than the windshield

That is the truth! First windshield didn't stand a chance against a very large rock. So, I cannot really complain.
2nd one however, got two small chips from what seemed to be light hits.
Wipers, still original! LOL..

I really like my Fj so far, but only had it for a few days. Picked it up Thursday night and wheeled it saturday. I am thinking that a backup camera would be good for the FJ. I added the small stick on mirrors to the stock side mirrors and that helped a bunch.

Had my FJ for a year now and despite a few quirks here and there .... I like it a lot. I was pleasantly surprised with the water fjording ability of the FJ this morning on the way to work as the recent rains completely flooded out several intersections and they were littered with similar height (and higher) stalled / flooded vehicles.
I made it through one that I really shouldn't have attempted ... my bung-hole was water-tight at one point !!
Got two chips in the windshield but no other problems. I like the engine, an inline 6 would be cool for the torque but not needed for what I do. I would like to shoehorn a V8 in there though... if I had one of these for a toy.
Cheers,
PISTOL
