| 4 door for 2010? I read the 2010 is supposed to come in a true 4 door….no suicide doors. This is pretty interesting because at 6’4” I don’t fit in the 4Runner. Also mentioned is the possibility of the 5.7. Can anybody substantiate this?

| i dont see it being discontinued just look at how many of them that you see around at least where i live i see at least 10 or 20 of them a day granted we have a toyota dealership that is pretty close i just cant believe that they will end such a good thing. 4 doors would be sweet that would be cool if they tried to make it look like a 60 series |

| There has been much buzz around the net about discontinuing the FJC but I just don't know. On one hand I can see it with the way the global markets are going and the price of oil (which is currently on the decline), but then on the other hand why would they stop producing one of the hottest items on the market. Everywhere I go, there are people checking out my FJC and asking about it, to the point that my wife thinks it is a sickness. I say keep on wheeling, but if they do stop production, we will have instant collector items.

| It would be a MAJOR design change to not have suicide doors.

| No matter how many FJs it seems that you see (relative to other vehicles) or how many people tell you it's cool - it's a *#$^ing sales loser. Toyota is not selling many FJs - possibly not enough to continue producing it (wonder if that topic has come up ) and certainly not enough totally re-engineer the truck... and further cannibalize the 4Runner's market share.

Maybe selling more hybrids will save the world. When do they have to replace all those highly toxic batteries anyway?
I just think all sales suck look at the big three, toyota and honda also released that their sales the last quarter where down 34% and they have the gas sippers.
My friends have a used car lot and service center they said sales suck but people are really fixing some junk. everyone is waiting for Obama to save the world economy, and until people start spending $'s again model changes will be minimal I believe, with the exception of increased hybrid production.

| Don't think that the FJ Cruiser would be discontinued unless these economic trends keep up.
Also, has anyone seen the Concept of a 4Runner & FJ hybrid showcased at the Sema 2007? the FJRunner?
Might be a possibility for a new kind of SUV.

| I don't remember where I read this, so I cannot back this up. But, Toyota's original plan for the FJ Cruiser was a 5 year run only, no descendants. So, I don't see it being replaced after the 2011 model year anyway.
