Overhead console install from other models?

Has anyone a reference on the installation of an overhead console from another model car/truck? I recall seeing a thread on someone using one from a Maxima or Accura,... sunglasses compartment & two lights. I'm concerned with the depth and mounting of such and would love to hear of your experiences.

There have been numerous folks that have installed Honda, GM, all kinds of overhead consoles/maplights combinations in the FJ over on the blue site.

You can fit anything in there as long as you're willing to pay, or are very good at cutting....Headliner is something you really don't want to mess up when measuring and cutting to fit anything up there.

yeah, look up username "swissarmysuv" on the blue forum. He's got measurements and instructions on how to wire it to your existing domelight.

Thanks Rick,... sounds like what I'm looking for. That said, I searched on the forum for SwissArmySUV, and got no hits. What/where is the "Blue Forum"?

On topic of Swiss Armys, I believe he has stopped making them, though I could be wrong. I know he also made a in-bumper fog light kit but I believe he stopped making those as well. If you want a picture of his, I have one in my vehicle. Just ask.
