CAI help

Hey guys, im hopeing to get CAI for my 20th birthday next week for my 07' Fj and i need to do some lookin around and need a little help. My grandfather is helping me with all this and wants to know whats best, K&N or TRD? Im convinced the TRD is best but he still has to know. And also he wants to know what parts come with it? Can anyone help me? Maybe a before and after picture, or any picture and a little advice? Im trying to get mor MPGs with 3" OME, ARB front bumper, Warn winch XD 9000, 285/70/17 and CAI is my next project i hope im thinking its going to help in the long run!? And if theri is any other was to get more MPGs please fill me in so i can make the mod, because my fj is a DD for me and i drive back and forth form school 23 miles and work 20 miles everyday! Thanks

I say go with the TRD. Looks great, sounds great, boosts performance... It can give you a bit better MPG if you stay off the throttle and drive conservatively. That is easier said than done when you hear how good it sounds when you bury the pedal! I'm not sure what you mean about what parts come with it. It is just an airbox, a filter, a lid for the box, and a tube and connector. A nice straight shot.

I don't know if you ever plan to add a snorkel, but if you do you will need to see if the K&N can be mated to the snorkel. The TRD hooks up very easily for even cleaner, cooler air.

TRD is a safe bet...I actually prefer Volant products and they just redesigned and released their CAI for the FJ Cruiser. That would be my first choice but you cant go wrong with the TRD as it is made by AFE but slightly changed for Toyota.

Or stick the volant filter in the TRD box (if it fits) and have the best of both worlds!
