I just put a lift on my FJ Cruiser and need to adjust my headlights. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

thanks,

It's a pain in the A_ _ but it can be done. there are two adjustments for each side. One up and down and one left to right. The adjusting "wheels" are hrd to find. The top pne has a small cover that slides off exposing the "wheel" you use a phillips head screw driver to change it but I'm not sure which way does what. the other one is way down in a hole behind the headlight assembly. HARD to find. takes a LONG phillips head.

You can buy a real good CD on Ebay which telles everything you'd ever need to know about your FJ. I think I paid like 14$ for mine. Look in the search window for Service Manuals+Toyota FJ Cruiser. You'll see plenty of them. They have a picture of a Voodoo Blue FJ on the front.

Good Luck,

Woodeye

Not that hard guys. You will need a 10 inch Philips screwdriver. Look down on top of the headlamp assembly with the hood open. You can see a long slot molded into the back of the headlamp that clues you into where the screwdriver shaft goes. At the bottom of that hole there is a metal toothed wheel that rotates with the twist of your screwdriver.

Park your car about 15 feet from a brick wall or garage door on level ground. Adjust the screwdriver in one direction to determine whether you are moving the light up or down. The light pattern on these headlamps has a distinct "upper" line of light. Adjust this line to be lower than your hoodline but not too far below your actual headlamp level. You can check your adjustments against another car by pulling up behind one at night. You want your headlamps to fall on the rear trunk area but not directly into the rear window. Line it up with the top edge of their hood.
