Anyone towed a distance?

Am going to be towing about 4000 pounds up to Canada in a couple months and was wondering if anyone has towed a decent distance. Being a fairly short wheelbase, has anyone had any difficulty?

Towed a 6x12 enclosed trailer with a HD and a bunch of stuff during the move from Colorado to NC. No problems, mileage sucked though..

Towed from Phoenix AZ to Brianhead Utah. 6X12 trailer with 2 RAPTOR 700's. Made it fine with steep climbs but gas would disapear as soon as you left the station I believe I was getting just over 9 miles to the gallon but was doing 80plus the whole way.

I towed my 40 for about 500 miles on a trailer that weighs about 2K. No problems with the FJC on level ground or long inclines. Mileage averaged about 12 MPG.

The east coast Trail team is at about 20,000 miles of towing a 3,500 lb trailer. No problems.

Talking NO probs here!

I towed a horse tailer fully loaded with tack room about 7500-8000 lbs with NO issues! 80 on the freeway and through canyons with wicked grades! I honestly did not expect it to go so easy! was VERY impressed!!!
The FJ's are able to do pretty much anything!

YEE HAW!

This is interesting. When the FJ first came out, everyone said to avoid towing like the plague, and how dangerous it would be. Now we have people towing 8000 pounds. That's 3000 pounds over the rating!!!

I've got to ask, do you have anti-sway and load distribution bars on your trailer to do this?

Skipped the trip up north but I did just tow the Airstream loaded up (almost 5000 pounds in total) and it did pretty darn well. The gas tank emptied out at approximately the same rate as a beer bong (about 9mpg) because I stayed in 4th to save the tranny but it did a great job other than the frequent stops for gas.
