I would buy the truck version for myself. Not the convertible though, that just looks like crap.

Why can't it be underneath? There's quite a bit of room under there. Not that I think that's a good spot for a full size spare....

"The FJ has a heritage of open-air off-roading and we've had this concept production-engineered," said Mark Amstock, Toyota's national product marketing manager for SUVs. We'd wager that means the FJ Cruiser Soft Top is at least being considered for production. According to Amstock, even the orange paint is inspired by the original FJ40.

Too bad Toyota hates us and doesn't listen to us and blah, blah, blah.

It looks like Mr. Amstock reads 'Mud. Soft top, old colors, 33s. I like it.

They come out with that truck in Freeborn Red and I might have 2 FJCs in the driveway.

Id like to see the ragtop go all the way back and look a little more boxy as well as some windows on the sides. That might help it look like a cruiser.

The convertable is hideous with or without the wheels, now the pickup version is way cool.

The pickup is very nice. The ragtop sunroof is cool. That'd be a nice addition to the 'normal' FJC.

The convertible on the other hand . . .

I'm not sure if people are aware of this, but....
the pickup has a ragtop (sliding fabric sunroof)
I think some people might be confusing the two: convertable vs ragtop

The convertible is worse than gay, but the pickup is badass!

If they build the pickup, I may have to seriously consider that!

I went to the Owner's Event yesterday in Veags and I wnet on a closed course off-road trail they had setup. Anyways I rode over to the course with the Head of marketing for Toyota, I forget her name but she told me that the "FJ truck" shown here in Orange is a pre-production model, and Will be out sometime in the next 2 years. Either way I just love the orange color!

Mark Amstock, if you're listening, please fast track the pickup to production. I'll buy one. I test drove a silver six-speed FJ the other day, and it was almost a go, but the little woman couldn't get over the blind spots/lack of visibility to the rear, and the claustrophobic rear seat.

This more than replaces my 2003 Tacoma Double Cab; everything that fits in the back of that thing (cooler, or a fridge......or a deer) can fit in the back of this. YOU HAVE TO BUILD THIS.

Don't change the tailgate. And I'll take mine in Toyota Forklift Orange, please.

Chequebook in hand,

Alfred442

PS or else we're getting a Wrangler.....don't make me resort to that!

I'd like to see one of those on each of the Trail Teams next year! They really did a nice job with that, although the 1GR-FE works great, even towing trailers everywhere. No need for a supercharged 4.7 V8, IMO. That tool box is a nice feature and the orange looks really good. I love the true wrap around windows.

The FJ is a sweet platform. It's exciting to me to see Toyota experimenting with options. It would be nice to see a two door, two seater, allowing for a longer bed. Any photo shoppers out there?

It looks nice, but the truck bed is to short for my rifle case. It looks awfully short ie less than 52 inches. If bed is longer than 52 inches, then my case can fit. My Target Rifle assembled is 58 inches long.

I would prefer a two seater with a longer bed, with an option to have seating for 4 ie: 2 bucket seats to have at least 4 passengers. If the seats can pop out like the Sienna seats, then I can remove the 4th seat, and take 3 shooters with me :-).

A Diesel version would get a harder look for me with a longer range fuel tank as an option.
