Well, last week I found the FJ40 I bought in Sept. leaks more oil than I thought. Ran it low and locked up the motor. My list of wants has just evaporated, and a new list of needs has taken its place. Now I'm looking for a reference for a machine shop to do a rebuild. Preferably one that's familiar with LC's. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

so he lets him try the parts out before he buys them to make sure thats
what he needs the save the guy some money right ! all sounds great right ?
well after some emails,phone calls,and 2 years later the parts where never paid for (if they worked or what ever) or just give the parts back !!


every time you talk to the guy about wheelin, he bring up that guy you hooked him up with that stole his parts ! and has never made it right !


so is this not my prob. ? am i turning this in to a big deal ?

Does anyone have an old drum brake axle from a 68' or older fj in the parts pile? I can use either the line from the splitter to the right rear cylinder or the cylinder to cylinder connector.

I am stuck on the IAC as it does not "appear" to be passing two of the three tests the FSM calls for, one of which is speculative at best. Here's the point of my post - and this is a big stretch I completely understand - I am looking for a KC based member that has an 80 idling at the appropriate 700 RPM in gear that would be willing to meet with me and allow me to do a quick parts swap to test the working unit on my engine before I invest $500 for a new replacement. This would take all of about 15 minutes to perform and it would have absolutely no impact on the donor unit as it is a two screw/one plug removal that takes only minutes to accomplish. I know, this is a HUGE request from a total stranger and I would certianly understand if the posted responses come back tell me I am smokin' crack, but short of this last test, I am faced with a large dollar expense that may actually not be needed.
