Anyone on line right now with a close up pic of where the wires attach to the wiper motor on a 67'ish FJ45? :D Need to see if a terminal I want to use to make a harness would actually fit. I have a good harness complete with OEM terminals, just need to see where they attach...
Oh , one more thing: The end of the wiper windshield harness that attaches to the switch has a ground wire. Where does this ground wire attach and how long is the ground wire past the end of the harness?

Thanks...

I've got some rust problems in my HJ45 troopy. I want to replace both the front floor pans. I just got off the phone with Iron Pig Off Road and was told that the floor pans for the 40/42 are different than the 45. I thought they were the same?

Should I be able to use floors for the 40 in a 45?

I have a BJ42 but it's currently off at the winter storage place. I can head over there to take measurements and photos to compare but I figured someone around here might know the answer off the top of their head.

Drivetrain Swap Help

Alright guys,

I may get crucified on this, but here goes. I've had my troopy (1981 HJ47) for a little over 2 years now. Since then, I've driven it for maybe 2 months total as I keep having problem after problem with transmission, engine, various parts, etc. I've gotten so fed up that I'm done. I'm going to pull everything (except transfer case) and start over. I'm not somebody who wants this to be all original either...I want it to be dependable and easily fixed.

I'm going to put a GM drivetrain in. I know that sounds terrible, but I want something that can be easily worked on and I don't want to waste weeks searching for parts. I'm also aware that I'll need an adapter for the trans/transfer case.

I'm looking at 3/4 possible swaps and I need some input.
1. LS-1 (local shop has it and a SM420 ready to go)
2. Duramax/Allison
3. GM 6.2 Diesel/Fully Mechanical
4. GM 6.5 Diesel

Let me know what you guys think and if you know of any major pros/cons of any choices. Think I'm leaning more towards a 6.2, but I'd love to know what you guys think.

Thanks,

Hi guys,

Sorry for the cross-posted link, but I don't have time this morning to create the whole post again, and I need info/advice ASAP....

Another, "What would you pay" thread - Rising Sun Member Forums

Please take a look at the link & let me know what you guys think it is worth? Norforce HJ47. Super cool becuase it was Norforce & also has all those cool Norforce extra-special touches & also a soft top. But I just don't know what I should offer (or even if I should for sure)....

I feel like the rising sun guys are offering good advice to just forget about it, but I really dig the norforce trucks, so I thought I would get some other opinions....

All opinions are weclome!

hey my name is marty. I'm a total newb. i've been in love with cruisers since my teens and im only 22 now, so not that long. anyways some of you may have noticed my last thread about picking a 45 up from vancouver and driving it home to calgary. trip went great. so its been in my garage for a couple weeks now and im making progress on it. i am not doing a frame off resto this time around, i dont have the space or money. I am however trying to stall the overall deterioration of it so that a full resto will be easier if i decide to do one later down the road. i do have to pass an out of province inspection hopefully next spring, so this thing will be in top running condition if not in perfect condition.

sorry but this pic uploader is being stupid again. try again in a minute.
