I am in the middle of a disk brake swap and will be cutting/flaring my brake lines for the proportioning valve, converting hard to soft lines for the calipers, etc.

I am thinking about buying this flare tool from Summit Racing. Anyone used this before? As stated in my post about torque wrenches, my co-workers gave me a gift card to Summit. Hence the decision to buy from summit.

Thanks for any comments.

Is the Matco TRC150 torque wrench worth buying?

I am considering buying the Matco TRC150 torque wrench rated at 10 - 150 ft lb (1/2" drive). The 10-150 range appears to serve most purposes as I am in the middle of a disk brake swap and just installed the OME 2.5" deluxe suspension kit. If anyone out there thinks buying this torque wrench is a bad idea please let me know.

FYI: I am a backyard mechanic just learning how to wrench. If I need anything larger I figure I can turn to our local club.

Another option for me is to buy a torque wrench from Summit Racing as my co-workers just gave me a $150 gift certificate!

Thanks,

I'm so stoked about this new tool that I had to share that coolness with you mudders.
Big thanks to my cousin Jay who works for McMaster-Carr and gets like a 50% discount.

It's a USA made AVK Hi-Torquer rivet nut installation tool. I also got the right bit and two packs of M8 1.25 nuts.
First job is to install nuts so I can bolt up my skidplate on my FJ60 resto project. I'm using an 88 frame so there are only holes with no nut welded to the inside.
