Empty, they are about 4-5 pounds. We had a very interesting debate on total weight when full...

Rescue Trained Feedback*Buy yourself 3, preferably water, and a 100 pack of heavy gauge zip-ties,
and then they can also be used as a backboard if needed..only when proper rescue gear isn't available.
Just know they came in handy once! Great product , even for what they weren't designed for.
(Thus the reason to buy water's, don't use a fuel one as you'd have to drain it first+fumes=danger.)

**Sorry to ask as I think it's been asked many times before...please blue for water??

Great tip!

As for water - it appears it only comes in white or black for water; sorry.

Thanks! *I should clarify though, you have to stack and tie them brick style, two on top w/ the bottom the load and fixing brace. You lift w/ at minimum** 3 people, two across the center and one at the head so nothing moves if anything slips.

**Another reason people should take an off-road safety/rescue class.

General Rule for liquid weight conversion: "A gallon is 10 pounds the world around..." realistically it's about 8.4lbs, go with the 10lb rule for differing fluids, even though gas is lighter in mass than water.

4-5LBS-Canister, 5 gallons@10lbs/ea, 55lbs.

They are going to be shipping to me in WV since we are not a CARB state - we can then work out a delivery method from there.

Easier rule to remember is 1 litre = 1 kilogram. Most of the world is metric these days

These are really cool and a different way to haul fuel or water. I may want a couple. What would be the expected delivery date to those that ordered?

Cool - hope you can join up.

The buy is closing on the 30th, I'll then email all participants on payment, and then they will be shipped. So, if everything lines up - they can go out by the 3rd as long as payments are in.

Cool - be sure to email me if interested (jkollin@thewebmench.com)

In regards to Shipping - I got a rough estimate from Exped. One based on our 25 orders so far: $7.41 per container

Of course, the more that are ordered - the lesser the shipping....

.....stumbled in here totally by chance....
This can design looks great...I have 3 of the DoD type jerry cans on the back of my Hanna and wish after the fact that I had bought 3spares.

Is there experience here regarding the tightness of the seal when stored flat and / or heat expansion deformation ?

Tia

Cool

We can also go another route - I live 10 minutes from Maryland (WV Panhandle - south of Hagerstown) - we could do a meet up and give 'em to ya.

Here's an update about the seals from Exped One

"With the heat expansion, we've had some experience with it. We haven't had any trouble with expansion. They will expand up to an inch in thickness depending on the conditions, but do not cause leakage as a result. I have only had a couple of people who had trouble with seals and we think it is a result of over-tightening. But that is literally only a couple people."

Forgive my ignorance, but while I can see the utility of these on ATV's, where rack space is at a premium, I'm not following the logic of these for our cruisers.

But then I've carried firewood, chainsaws & trash inside my rig before, so I'm surely missing something.

Enlighten me please...

It's really piece of mind while on extended trail runs when it comes to fuel, but having a water supply can also be beneficial.

Got your email

Shipping is going to depend on how quickly everyone who is in on the buy pays - if all goes to plan, I'll email all participants the day it closes with payment information (amount and how to). If all due payments come in quickly, the quicker the shipment goes out.
