FZJ80 Performance Exhaust
EDIT 10/9/2009:
For anyone interested in purchasing the exhaust in it's current version, this is for you. We're calling it's current version p0.91. We've built a few sets already. With the p0.91 version, the things to note are:
* If you have a larger than factory spare tire in the factory location it may rub the exhaust pipe
* As noted by Ebag333, interference may occur with the rear control arm with heavy articulation of the rear axle during rock crawling
* Sliders should fit, but may require trimming (from what we've seen so far though, they should fit without trimming)
* Will be 100% bolt-on for 95-97 LX450 and Land Cruisers
* Should fit 93-94 FZJ80 as well, but has not been test fitted yet
Options:
Full "Header-Back" Exhaust (including Y-pipe & Cat section) - Complete ehxaust system. Bolts to the OEM headers and goes all the way back to the exhaust tip.
Y-pipe & Catalytic convertor section only - Bolts to the OEM headers and includes a high-flow catalytic converter. Bolts directly to the secondary OEM catalytic converter.
"Cat-back" Exhaust (Bolts to the primary OEM Cat) - Bolts directly to the OEM primary catalytic converter, and goes all the way back to the exhaust tip.

Classifieds? Nope. There are only 2 prototypes that were built so far. They will be for sale soon though.

The piping is CNC mandrel bent 2.5" stainless steel. It is a great setup for naturally aspirated FZJ80's and turbo/supercharged FZJ80's running up to around 10psi.
We'll announce pricing in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry in advance if I missed it; what type of stainless was used, same as OEM? Any performance gains? Have you experimented with a resonator/small muffler near the tail pipe like the OEM exhaust, or could it be added? Some of the pipe sections look tack welded only, or is there something else there to form a tight seal?

* The type of stainless used: 304SS, completely TIG welded
* No resonator at this time, future versions of the exhaust may have one
* Some of the pictures are of incomplete assemblies that are only tack welded. The final pieces are fully TIG welded.

Thanks for the info. Not sure what type of stainless the OEM system is, but it lasts a long time. Mine is getting close to the time for a replacement. What I do like about the OEM system is how quiet it is, don't really want it any louder, hence the question for the resonator; will that tone it down a tad? Also, assume that the single cat works as it should, no codes from the O2 sensors/ECU?

I think it is fairly quiet as it is, just a bit deeper sound. The highflow catalytic converter we use is plenty to keep the emissions to a minimum. It is quite a bit larger than the factory cats and has a lot more internal surface area. Your factory O2 sensor and ECU will work fine with the catalytic converter we use and you will not get any error codes.
