Sirius Stiletto 2 intall into 1997 80 Series

Nothing too technical here but here's what I did. I used the same ProClip Romer used to install his PDA. It can be found here:

ProClip Mounting System *-*Choose Your Country

Here are the "parts" Stiletto 2, car kit base, ProClip.

I then made a template of the mounting screw holes on the back of the base unit, and drilled them into the ProClip. Along with a large hole for the antenna and power plugs.

Installed in the truck. I still need to run the wiring. But the unit is easy to read and operate.

Looks great.

I'm planning to use the same mount for my HAM & GPS. How strong does it appear? Can my 2 year old use it as a step?

Have you looked into fishing the cables into the air duct, then behind the dash?

I would not call it two year old proof, but plenty strong for its purpose. Should be just fine for your HAM too.

I didn't have time to ponder the wiring this morning. But yes into the duct would be ideal.
