Search this forum, plenty of info on the 60csx. I have one and really like it.

The nav maps that come with the GPS are for city street but have no off road information. They have some dirt roads but other than that you will need other software for the back roads. I have a 60 and like the unit.

No voice at all but does have turn by turn. The nav software it comes with is pretty good for highway and they do make a TOPO that is good for a start.

Check the web sight yet?

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=145&pID=310

and look at their TOPO CD.

I have the 60csx in my FJC. Works great. I have both CityNavigator and Topo loaded. Screen is big enough for use in the vehicle and slips in the pocket for the occasional hike or hunting trip.

I have the Venture Cx. One level down in terms of antenna performance, but smaller and much less $. Does fine for my uses.

I have a 60csx and really like it. I used it for a year or so (just for trails--dirt bike and cruiser) without the upgraded City Navigator NT software. Now that I have the software, I see that it will navigate/route streets about as well as any street GPS (except no voice).

The one advice that I have is to buy the CD's and not the preloaded micro SD cards. I have a preloaded SD card with my City Navigator and haven't been able to also load my topo maps at the same time. I currently have to swap the SD cards to use the topo maps. Also, I haven't been able to load Navigator onto my computer from the SD card. MapSource won't recognize the map files on the SD Card. I purchased my topo maps on a CD and have no problem installing them on the computer (MapSource). I setup my parent's City Navigator with a CD and it was much easier.

Oh, the antenna performance has been great. It usually works indoors and no matter how far deep in the woods and valleys.
