pics of your CB install?

People with single DIN sized units, where did you mount your CB?

I was 'given' a Uniden PC68XL CB and have no idea where to put the darn thing. Closest thing to a clean install I can picture is on the back of the center console.

My radio is double DIN, so it won't fit there, unless I get a new stereo!

Not a good pic, but the only one I have right now.

If you have really good eyes, you can see it mounted above the rear-view mirror on the cage. I fabbed my own bracket out of some leftover material I had laying around.

The antenna is mounted on the tub, (bracket also made out of left overs). I didn't want to drill any extra holes, so I used exhisting holes for the diamond plate.

Will it fit inside the ashtray hole? If not, two possibilities are behind the center console or between the Ebrake & the center console. Or do like Beno and velcro the thing to the top of the dash! Ooh, another location could be under the instrument cluster, right of the steering wheel, right below the manual throttle cable hole.

How big is your ASH hole? Mine isn't that big.

I think between the seat and the console is where it's going to end up, but I'll have to loose that cup holder. (just about the only functional cup holder in drivers reach!)

Holy cow, that's a big radio. I'd put it behind the center console with the number facing you. I have something similar in the wife's 80 and that space works out great.

Yeah, the single DIN sized unit is larger than the one that Walmart sells... but it seems to be a better radio, and it was FREE!
