Anyone have a Garmin Nuvi?

Which model?
Where did you get it?
What do you like/dislike?

I only have experience with my son's 360, but they make a bunch of models...

Got to be Garmin.

Nuvi 660... a bit more GPS than needed and I sold it when I got my Eclipse in-dash nav, but it was great and had alot of bells and whistles. Also a great screen.

I have a Nuvi 350, and I use it all the time. I can't think of anything dislike at all, since it is super reliable.

I have a 360.

Likes: I very much like that I can link it blue tooth to my phone and use the phone book, call home, speaker etc.. all through the device.

Dislike: I like the screen size but just wish it was bigger. (bigger is almost always better).
Yes, the phone will "speaker" through the device but I just don't like talking through a speaker phone that much so I don't use it often.

Hope this helps

Thanks, that does help. I am buying this for a friend, I mean like a proxy, not a gift. He wants to keep it under $500. I was impressed by my son's 360, but would like to install it more inconspicuouisly so it can be left in the vehicle. Like with a "permanent antenna" and installed in the console, maybe, I dunno.

I don't know about where you are, but around here those are getting stolen out of rigs all the time. It's the new "easy" thing to smash & grab.

Ed,
The GPS Store, Inc. Garmin, Magellan, TomTom Systems and Accessories. I got a Nuvi 350 from them. Great little unit and easy to use. There's a lot of good info on the site.

The has the Nuvi 600. For road use it seems great...and she likes it! We nabbed it when Costco had them for $399 awhile back.

Got a 660 on sale at Best Buy during Black Friday just because it was on sale. It's pretty good, but I'd be happy with something simpler. The widescreen is the best thing about it, I think that's all they sell now. It's got a lot of features that I don't need, such as bluetooth, FM transmitter, traffic, and the ability to say the street names. I don't use bluetooth, the FM transmitter isn't very clear on any station I've tried, and you have to pay a monthly fee for traffic. Hearing the street name is pretty nice though, but I could live without it. The extras are not worth the extra money, I'd get the cheapest model with a wide screen that doesn't have all that stuff and save a $100-$150.

Garmin 670 here. Great road GPS and also good for walking around Italy looking for restaurants! But it does have 3 shortcomings: the screen is not so visible with polarized sunglasses, the battery does not last nearly as long as advertised and the name search is not as good as the earlier 2000 series Garmin with autocomplete and graying out of non-possible letters. Did that make sense?

Also consider the new 700 series that has no visible antenna and breadcrumbs. The downside is the reception is not as good so it also takes longer to find the satellites.

Iv heard some of the other Garmin units you can load an "off road" database, does the same hold true for the NUVI product line?

I have the nuvi 260.

The nuvi 260 is so simple, you do not even need to read the instuctions at first to start using it. I can'tsay there is anything that I do not like about it.

I just bought four of the Garmin 350 Nuvi's for my employees.

With rebate I think I paid $399 each including tax.

Costco has the Nuvi 360 on sale for $249. I ordered one for my wife. Every review I could find was very positive. I believe the price is good for just a few more days.
