This is an opportunity to use some advanced features of HAM and Talk about off roading and trucks with folks around the country. It’s easy – you just find a repeater that will allow IRLP connections and while you key the mic you enter 9251 and when you release the reflector will announce that you are connected. Key the mic and enter 73 to disconnect (you must always do this when you are done) If you want some info check here - http://www.irlp.net/guidelines.html

I'd like to join in.

How do I find a repeater that won't mind me hogging their signal? Most of the ones I have pre-programmed already have significant traffic.

It sounds like I need a live but unused local repeater. Any suggestions?

Can't you log in via Echo link? If so Andy Echo link is easy and I can point you in the correct direction.

I don't think Echolink and IRLP are compatible,,

Andy,
Try the NARCC website for other IRLP repeaters in your area - http://www.narcc.org/ - the notes area of the repeater will have the letter i and he node number of that repeaters IRLP node.

Cabrito, Which Repeater do you use for this?

Cabrito,

I'm in Redwood City, which repeater do you use for this ? I should be able to hit most SF ones from where I am at.

Mark

I wish I could be more helpful. I have only experimented with the Mt. Diablo repeater 14X.060 and the one I am currently using.
I use 444.850 and probably wont reach Redwood City. It's only good for the east side of the city to the Eastbay towards Richmond. You could try though.
Try the NARCC website for IRLP repeaters in your area.
