Can 1-external speaker serve CB & HAM?

I have an existing external speaker for my CB. Can I somehow run both HAM and CB on the same external speaker?

Yes if you use a switching mechanism so only one source powers the speaker at a time.

You could run both at the same time, but you would need to have an impedence matching device so that each radio saw the desired impedence (usually 4-8 ohms). Probably be just a cheap to add a 2nd external speaker, tho...

Thank you both! I was trying to avoid more clutter around the dash area...but looks like I'll just need to get another speaker for the HAM (or get everyone else in our group to convert to HAM

).
