Door Jam Mount on a FJ80 (CB Antenna)

Hi,

Has anyone tried this door jam mount before? Any problems? I'm thinking about putting this on the rear liftgate area.

Thanks,
TJ

Haven't seen this. I think you'd be better off with this:
http://www.firestik.com/CatalogFrame.htm

Better ground plane = better transmissions.

Which one? The link you sent just takes you to the main catalog. The website uses frames so you can't just copy and past the URL in the Address Bar. You can right click on the link you are referring to and copy and paste or just tell me what you're referring to.

Thanks, yeah that what I figured you were talking about. From what I've read it seems like the hood mount would be a better location for ground and signal. My only concern is how easily do CB antenna's break? If i get into bushes/shrubs on the trail can the antenna handle it?

Thanks for the help! I'm new to the CB radio arena.

They are amazingly durable. I have a fiberglass antenna on one rig and a stainless steel whip on the other. They both do fine.
