Fuel delivery screw

Can anyone send me a picture of where the fuel delivery screw and possibly the turbo boost screw/adjustment is. I received a pic. from another member who has a 2LT but it does not seem to match my system.

I have a 1990 LJ71 with the 2LTE . The reason I am asking is that I want to turn back the fuel as I'm blowing some black smoke on hills and under load etc.

Thanks.

the E suffix in 2LTE stands for "electronic fuel injection" which means all the controls are electronic. If you have lots of black smoke you either have bad injectors, wrong base timing or not enough air. For a start you could change your air filter, check the boost pressure and have the injectors serviced.

Sorry the picture didn't work out for you. I guess maybe the 2LTE injection pump doesn't have a max fuel adjust screw??

Probably your best bet then is to hit up the Australian Toyota Surf Owners Forum

Lots of guys there with 2LTE's.

Thanks for the info guys.

I checked the air filter and it's clean. I will work at getting the injectors checked.

There is a line between the output(big line) and the wastegate on your truck. This is the sense line for your turbo.

As things get older the boost drops. You can cut that line and tee in a small gauge. afterwards cap the tee and leave it in place. or add a pernament gauge going into a different spot on the main output from the turbo to the intake of the engine.

I cheap gauge at napa and some line fittings might only cost 20 bucks.

to test you basically have someone rev it smoothly while you watch the gauge. Best if you do a pernament gauge mount and drive. Then you know the boost underload rather than static.

If your boost is low, you might have to get a boost controller or a ball valve(grainger valve) to put in the sense line to delay the signal to the wastegate.

I bet you have electronic stuff on those lines too though. SO you have to be upstream of all that junk. You probably have an electronic controlled max setting.

Yah go to the surf forum for more info. I am fishing here.
