thinking of buying a landcruiser vx 4.2 td LTD j reg any good what should i look out for ,

are they heavy on fuel

no there not heavy on fuel

i get a whole 12 miles per gallon on my 62

I assume you're talking about an HDJ81 VX Limited.

There are a few on the board with these trucks. Do a search for "HDJ81" and you'll find some good reading.

I'm guessing you might double cruiser88's mileage with the turbo diesel 1HD-T in the 81, [edit: maybe that's a bit optimistic].
