GTurbo turbos just got some additional attitude:

New range of turbos are available as of new week, all with extended tip compressor technology on comp wheels, all comp wheels chemically treated to reduce cracks and crack propogation, allowing higher rpm amd pressures. All Turbos Happy at the standard waste gate setting of 11-14psi and deliver early boost response. Figures below are indications of maximum attainable pressure and performance.

On the back of the success of the first series of turbo upgrades, all the proceeds have gone into R&D which is why I'm rather sporatic on the forums these days; a little more active in last few weeks.

I plan to load dyno results in coming weeks. A "Stage 2" Grunter spec will be installed next week on a 1HDT. I will post a video of this on Youtube and will advise when done.

Importantly, every one of these turbos will be acceptable as a daily driver application and all of them are happy at lower boost values than the quoted maximums and deliver the "wants and needs" of the average punter with minimal modifications (such as std exhaust and no intercooler). In the case of dead stock, the Grunter Stage 1 is the logical choice and will be the best performer.

Some basic details as follows.

Grunter:

Stage (1) revised turbine for higher flow without sacrificing low end response. 11-20Psi 180whp.
Stage (2) capable of 215whp and 25psi to 3500rpm..... Revised turbine design for higher flow, revised comp wheel for higher efficiency and pressure ratio

Bad Boy:

Badder than ever, more turbine flow and higher compressor efficiency.... up to 245whp @ 29psi throughout the rev range with nice AFR's, 3 comp wheel options from 22-29psi.

Head Kicker:

Newest in the group, 35psi throughout rev range, up to 280whp, really designed just to show off..... and race

website is coming, finally..... Index of / but nothing there right now.

Good stuff Graeme!

Friendly greetings from a happy HDJ80-owner with Gturbo on the other side of the planet :)

I have looked at much of the info you have provided, which is very helpful/interesing.... one thing, can you make sure the dyno screen fotos are clear..... my eyes have enough trouble with good ones... thnx

Just shifted to WA,next few months when our house hold stuff arrives with my buggered ct26 it will be on its way to you, running a ebay copy at present:eek:
Graeme have you got access to new 12ht exhaust housings?

I havent you an email on your gmail account...greame. Is that ok... I want to order a bad boy!

My email: graeme@gturbo.com.au

Goldchaser: Starting to see a few dead Chinese CT26's now. Still nice and shiny so couldnt have done many miles but leaking oil badly on turbine and excessive turbine clearance (touched housing). I have got access to new housings yes. You can send me an email to above address or contact me on 0401 524 399

Bloody Ipad... I make so many typos with that thing.

Anyway thnx and ill forward it to the correct adress.

Another little offtopic question... what are the best gauges to install as extra monitoring in an HDJ80. I am fitting a 3 gauge pod.

Doing the turbo upgrade. Have intercooler and bigger exhaust.

Any idea's

I'd say VDO. Not the cheapest ones but good quality and, as far as I know, accurite.

Biesheuvel Autosport, ask for Han (IIRC), he knows everything about them. He has helped me out with all my gauges.

Yeah I know Biesheuvel... Ive seen the VDO ones...but as you say pretty expensive.

What are the best things to monitor extra? EGT? Oil pressure? Turbobooast? etc..

I'll be going with gauges for boost and EGT, possibly adding tranny temp down the road.

When I got my truck I immediately did boost and EGT gauges, and since I've got an automatic I added a temp sensor to that a while later.

Auto tranny temp is just like EGTs, as soon as you start monitoring them you wish you had been doing it for a lot longer...

Ok will do,i might chase up a new exhaust housing from mellet in England, they list them, the chinese one looks good but i'd rather a quality one and keep the china housing as a spare.

I wouldnt bother, I replace it with my own custom housing anyway.

Oh no probs then

Well I tried to contact you in several ways for a week already and used multiple email adresses but no replies at all. What is the problem? :meh:

Graeme's around. He's a committed father with a young family, works full time in his profession in the city, and squeezes a lot into his life. In his spare time, he is doing the R&D for these turbos, and building and supplying them. He sometimes goes on holidays with his family. I'd suggest he'll get back to you as soon as he can, and if you've not heard anything in a couple of weeks, try again. He's even posted his mobile number so people can contact him! He's at GMT +8 hours if you're going to call him.

Well if you concentrated on your emails whilst on the train to work instead of chatting to the sweet girl beside you, you'd get a lot more done!

1hd-t and 1 hz turbo options

Hey Graeme. Greetings from Malaysia. I want to ask how much is a kit for a turbo that is mildly to mediumly powerful and reliable? I do a lot of 6 hour asphalt road journeys (with quite a steep climb at a mountain range for about 40kms) and occasional offroading. My goal is to have a faster quicker response car to safely overtake whilst remaining rock solid reliable. So, i have a HDJ 81 1hd-t and was thinking to purchase another one with the 1hd-ft and drop that turbo in. but the HZJ 80 are much cheaper (2/3 of the price of HDJ) and if i can obtain somewhat similar results using the HZJ, that would be much more friendlier on the wallet haha
