2h parts support not-so-tech

Well,
After 3 days of phone calls with several toyota industrial dealers, the reality of the dwindling parts support for the 2h and 12ht seems to be setting in. I've spoken with three toyota industrial dealers, none of which had heard of the 2h, gave them part numbers and have yet to hear back when they could get me my parts.

I was just curious if you guys north of the border are still able to get parts pretty easily. Perhaps a care package is in order!!

I'm trying to get a fuel filter, oil filter, air filter (K&N or TRD), valve cover gasket, and the 4 rubber washers for the valve cover bolts. I've got all of the part numbers and I'll post them when I get out to the truck.

Mostly a rant I guess, thanks for listening.

Did you search the part number thread in the FAQ for cross over numbers? You should have no problems getting any of the filters down there...

I believe the TRD number is posted somewhere here as well as a Toyota paper filter that is reusable. The reusable paper on is around $60.00 cdn, and the TRD one is around $100.00 iirc. I have a reusable one sitting at the shop.

Where are you located? fuel, oil and air you don't need to get from the dealer. As for the other 2, find a good dealer that knows how to order parts or order the stuff from ENS, another toyota dealer from up north, G&S, or cruiser dan. I wouldn't mess with the industrial dealers.

Hi Iron Here in Oz I usually buy the valvoline VO 14 =Z161X this filter fits a few other vehicles. Also a lot of toyota forklifts here use the 2H motor in them so I expect its the same over there. There are cheaper filters but the valvoline is about $28.00 here, air cleaner App $30.00, would need to check again to give a proper price I usually buy this stuff from Supercheap bit like your prep boys.Check the link I put on "Vacuum Pumps" cheers

David,

I'm surprised Toyota Industrial doesn't have them. Did you try the Hayward store?

Anyways, the oil filter (15601-68010) is a toyota dealer stocked item $13 retail
The fuel filter (23303-54072) maybe in a local parts distribution center but available in ToyotaUSA system, $25 retail
The valve cover rubber washers (90210-13001) is a dealer stocked item, $2 retail.

The air filter is not as specific as it seems. I bought a filter for an FZJ80 and it fits just fine.
The valve cover gasket may be reusable. Otherwise this might have to be sourced from Marv Specter or cruiserdan.

Thanks for all of the help.
I tried Toyota industrial in Manteca, Salinas and Hayward. It all just surprised me as last I went the Toyota Industrial route the filters were on the shelf. I am going back to Toyota tomorrow with the full list of parts numbers to see what they CAN get (even if they don't particularly want to). I'm not worried about not being able to get the parts eventually- only that eventually keeps getting longer.

cheers.

p.s. Rob, the truck is running very well. Dave and I just did a compression check and everything came out over spec. A little spread accross the cylinders but she's still got some life left!! I'll be putting on some Alcan heavy load springs in the next few weeks and will post pics.

I am really surprised to hear that I am in Southern California and I have found several sources for gasket sets as well as heads, blocks and rebuilds, and all the filters. Where are you located??

Wow that is pretty hi, especially those being USD prices. I wonder if it really cost that much to get the parts into panama?

The answer is very easy .. here in Panamá Ricardo Perez is the only autorized Toyota Dealer .. in this case is a monopoly, some persons demand this CO, and theire make a sham changing the name from ricardo perez to many shops .. but all of our knows that is the same thing.

No competence .. in this field, for this reazon their can sell at any price .. !
