Turbo Drain

HI
I have started to really experiment with turbos on my BJ42 and I would like to go with a bit better oil drain. I am currently draining on with the alternator drain. I would like to tap right into the pan but there isnt a very clear path. Any ideas or pictures would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hey DieselDude, sorry I can't be enlighting about your drainage issues. But I am very curious as to your experiments on that red machine of yours. What kinda different turbos are you trying?

To tap into the oil pan for a return I would imagine a bung would have to be welded to the pan. Then use a rubber hose down to your fitting with Firesleave installed on it. I can get the product part number if your need it. If you went large enough on the hose it could be routed on a angle and not cause any restrictions. I am sure It would not have to be straight down.

Lets us know of the experiments please.

I will take a pic of mine. I welded a fitting a large fitting about 1 inch diameter. and have a high pressure marine hose on there from green line hoses.

I was wondering what fitting at the pan wayne used on micheals rag top. IIRC it was braided line to earl or russel fitting. Did you weld it to the pan or thread it in?

Ya I looked at the ragtop of waynes and it was clean. On my 4o series though there is more stuff in the way. So far Ive experimented with the 3 different 2.2litre leabarons and found them to not performas well as the D50 turbo. I have tried a few other aswell Ill give updates as they come I just bought a Gforce meter which is supposed to be accurate to within 3hp.
Cheers

Cool. I'm thinking wayne used a pipe thread/tapered NPT to russel fitting. and threaded it into the pan. I think i'm going to but on a 1" body lift to clear the D50.

that works great if you do not want to weld on the pan but it takes very little to weld a spigot to the pan, just make sure you are above the oil level...
cheers
