So i'm right in the middle of my knuckle rebuild and do ya think i can find moly-lithium grease anywhere. No.
Not at can tire, not at napa, no local auto store they all look at me like i have 5 heads. Toyota well "we usually have some around" but not today i guess. So do i do the whole job with reg wheel bearing grease or do I drive like 120km to find this shit. Anyone only run reg wheel bearing grease? I wouldn't get all bent out of shape if you can't find that exact type of grease. There's got to be some moly fortified grease or grease with at least some moly in it somewhere near you.

I'm sure I've bought that lubriplate stuff at Canadian Tire but it was in tubes rather than tubs. I have done lots of front ends with regular wheel bearing grease as well.

The moly grease only insures that everything wears together properly and quickly, I think?
right? I can't see any harm in not using it but make sure you use really good bearing grease __________________ 1986 BJ70, 24v with a 3B |

http://encyclopedia.lockergnome.com/s/b/Grease http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8987 http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8988 There is a reason MP grease is spec'd for the wheel bearings and Moly base for the high pressure areas like the Birf and knuckles. I prefer a Moly EP grease for the knuckle bearings, and outer axle, however some grease is better then no grease, and there are many who will use a MP wheel bearing grease for the knuckle bearings, birfield, and knuckle cavity. I suppose if I were going to go by the book I should really use the Moly/Lith No2... I would not however use an EP moly for your wheel bearings. gb |

Amsoil makes synthetic moly fortifed greases. The logging types here really like it for extreme load applications (all the time for them).
