3B fuel filter change
As a newbie to diesel, I wanted to check with y'all to see how to proceed. Just unbolt old and replace with new? Is it recommended to fill new filter with diesel purge? If I don't do this, does new filter need to otherwise be primed with fuel? thanks

You MUST prime the system using the small hand pump in the injection pump even if you fill it with diesel. Best done on a close to full tank and I like to do it when the engine is warm and start it up as soon as I've finished priming just in case there is a little air in there (warm engines are easier to start). Open the small bleeder on the filter housing and pump until no more bubbles appear.

Diesel smells good! It's the Stanadyne fuel additive I use that stinks.
Lemon juice will kill the smell on your skin. ;-) Happy Trails! N __________________ Nick Stone 81 BJ42 "BJ" 82 FJ60 "Sparrow" Lone Star Land Cruisers TLCA #8070 TLCA Administrative VP 02-08 |

burnt/used... same thing right? OOh bad gas. That's a nasty subject. I once drove a company truck that had been converted to propane without removing the gas tank (no it wasnt duel fuel) and its full tank of gas. After four or five years it really smelled bad. __________________ Rocky Mountain Land Cruiser Association TLCA # 5513 '87BJ74, '86BJ70, '78FJ45, '53M100, '90M101cdn I support our Troopies |
