Diesel Tachometer
I have VDO electronic tachometer wich is supposed to be connected to the W terminal of the alternator. Problem is the tach is a 12v unit and my BJ40 is 24v ( classic case of buy first think later
) so i am probably screwed. Would the tach work if the main power for the tach is 12v (i'm running a 24v to 12v converter) but the signal form the W terminal of the alternator will obviously be 24v? Probably a stupid question but my knowledge of this elektrikity thingies is rather limited so it's worth trying

Ya no problem with that. I am running my pick up on my 24volt alternator and it is fine it jumps a bit at idle with the heater and lights on but otherwise works perfectly.
