3B & 13B-T maybe 2H Alternator Replacement

After a long hard search I found a Alternator from a 84-85 Toyota pick-up DLX with a 2.4L diesel it's the same exact alternator for 3B and 13B-T. The only thing you need to do is replace the new alternator pulley with the pulley from your old alternator and everything else plugs in.

I took a look at the 3B & 2H manuals and Toyota LC micro fiche they look the same. Take a look at the Napa Auto Parts and Rock Auto Parts web-sites.

Alternator is from a:
84-85 Toyota Pick-up DLX
2.4L Diesel
12 volt system
55-60 amp

Napa Auto Parts, does not come with vacuum pump
#14675 or Ray #138292

On the Napa alternators I went with the Premium Alternators. These have free replacement warranty as long as you keep your invoice. Take note, Napa no longer carries the Beck/Arnley alternators

Napa Premium Alternators Prices:
#14675 $170
Ray #138292 $164

Rock Auto Parts, comes with vacuum pump
Beck/Arnley #1860609

Alternator to Vacuum Pump O-Ring
new O ring for mounting your vacuum pump is 55mm x 2mm you can get this O-ring at a hydraulic shop.

Hope this helps

See my thread for pics and what not. It's not the exact same alt., the mounting ears are aligned differently, but it will work with a longer belt.

Oh, and a bitchin FJ45 that may or may not be for sale.

12HT A/C Compressor Bearing

I took my A/C Pulley off the other day to check the A/C Bearing. It was stamped: Koyo 83A55184.
EPC shows Toyota # 90099-10133. So theoretically these numbers should cross over. I didn't end up replacing mine (it was fine, the pulley/clutch backside just needed a good cleaning) so I can't say 100%

Rear Slider Window Seals, Aussie Spec '82 HJ60, etc.

Source: Scott's Old Auto Rubber, Melbourne AU
http//:www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au

Part Number: 351-551, about $35 US.

This is only the inner seal that the glass sits on and slides on. You'll have to figure out what to do for the outer seal yourself, but that's much less specific. The ordering system is still in the last century, so you have to call them with your credit card # or fax it to them, or wire them money, but once I did that, it took less than one week to have it delivered stateside, and looks to be of excellent quality. They have lots of other similar products for old Toyotas, Rovers, etc.

lower rad hose heaters

(From this thread, not OEM but very useful!)

1.5" lower rad hose heater, NAPA p/n BK 6053014

Part numbers (from Wayne, get NAPA to cross-reference) are:

Zero start
3200002 = 1 1/4"
3200003 = 1 1/2"
3200004 = 1 3/4"

12HT 12V voltage regulator

From Regitar - a US company. I picked this up from a local rebuild supplier today. Will probably work with other 12V alternators with vacuum.

I was checking local stock and prices for filters on my 1HDT;

New Westminster Toyota, once I gave them a part number of 90915-03006 for the oil filter, said they have lots in stock at the warehouse as they are a common filter used here, $7.14.

Fuel filter, part # 23303-64010, again he said they are used over here and in the warehouse, $46.46.

I have noticed two slightly different part numbers for the oil filters;
90915-03006 and 90915-03002.
Whats the difference?

Looking for non-Toyota belts for a 1993 HDJ81.

Alternator?
Fan?
A/C?

I used to know them for the 3B. It's very convenient when you are in the middle of nowhere to go to Napa instead of trying to convince someone to send you something from Toyota.

Does anyone know these?

Craig.

Inexpensive Rebuilt Calipers

Factory part number for my '82 BJ42 (Australia): 47750-60021

www.thepartsbin.com -> 1982 -> Toyota -> Land Cruiser

A119826 A1 Cardone Front Passenger Side Brake Caliper 1976-1990 Toyota Land Cruiser (rebuilt) $34.76

A119827 A1 Cardone Front Driver Side Brake Caliper 1976-1990 Toyota Land Cruiser (rebuilt) $32.87

Core charge is extra. Another WorldPac site mentions these calipers are casting number: S12-8, which matches my truck. This looks like a great deal versus rebuilding yourself.

1HDT Air filter

Toyota 17801-68030
WIX 42159
Amsoil 42159 (same number as WIX)
K&N E-2443
Donaldson P526756
Napa 2159

Interestingly, this air filter seems to the same for damn near all Landcruisers according to that Donaldson cross reference.
