Yet another water separator question - Again !?

OK. Can some one tell me how the stock water separator work.

I know, Iknow... it separate !

But I open my stock water separator and it look to me like a simple can with two line on !

No filter. A little can with nothing in !

I just try to understand how this simple can work ? How can it separate water from diesel.

Is the float make somethging else than advise when there have to much water in ?

the diesel is lighter than the water so water sinks to the bottom of the seperator...

Water is more dense than diesel. Diesel floats on top, water sits on the bottom. You pop the drain plug and the water spills out.

Finaly... it simple ! OK.

It's a physical thing. No mechanic here.

I was looking for something more complicate.

I like simple thing in complicate Cruiser's land.

David, that is all there is to it! THe water sinks, when it gets to the coorect level it raises the float, and the light on your dash comes on (if the entire system is functional). You have a paper filter on the engine for particulate filtration of the fuel.

Come on, hold your self on the chair... 400$ CAN.

I can't beleive that. A simple little can with 2 lines on... for 400$CAN.

Thats what that Filter light is for?? Sweet I was Just wondering that... It comes on when I start my truck but goes off right away..
