BJ74 Relay needed

I have a problem with the pre heat system on my 24v BJ74, I think the fault is in the relay cleaner cont. Part # 85276-90K01.

Does anyone know where I can get one ?

Thanks

Mick

if you know the toyota part number-have you tried a dealer? they can get almost all the relays for my 85BJ70, as long as I know the number...

I have tried the local dealers but as it's an Japanese import the part number does not appear on their parts list.

That part number shows up as the headlight cleaner control relay. I do not think it is related to your glow system. Shoot me the correct number of the unit you are looking for, and I will check the files. We have some complete 13BT wiring harness's in stock, with all relays attached.

Mick:

That's fine, as long as you splice into the coil wires of the relay and not bypass the relay altogether and splice into the load side. If you do, there is going to be mondo amperage going through that switch and there's no switch I can think of off hand that will handle such a load, even for a few seconds.

Is there no one near where you live that can give you a hand? If you were local here, I would have no problems inviting you over to the shop and giving you a hand. I think that if you think it's a bad relay, then manually supplying current to the coil through a switch wouldn't necessarily solve your problem. Maybe see if Greg has a proper relay to sell you and give that a try first?

I fell your frustration man, hang in there.

So what did you end up doing, Mick? Glad to hear you've solved the problem.

I wired it up as you sugested on this thread. I took power form the fuse panel through a starter switch ( mounted where yours is ) to the relay. Started up great this morning no hestitation at all, and no smoke either, but it was only -20.
