13BT Glow screen

Does anyone know which wire for the glowscreen gets the positive voltage? I've looked at ST-9 but it's too schematic. I need to know what wire to give power to when I look in the engine compartment. Can I use the green wire/plug that the FSM calls a "check" or something?
Many thanks

Jim,
a little different than my setup. Is your's 24v? I have two 8 gauge, one of which goes to your "B" and the other to another terminal 1/2" to the right of "B". These large (white and blue) wires go to the relays. The Green wire is the test connect lead ("D").

I can do more looking if you'd like,
let me know,
mike

Mike,
Yes Mine is a 24 volt. I have a wire coming from a relay going to the test connect lead (D)
After this morning's easier start, I think it's working. Light comes on for 20 secs...Do you know what terminals "A" and "C" are for?

Thanks Mike
Jim

20 seconds seems a little long. I though that the glow screen only fired for a max of 14 sec but other guys on here probably can confirm this.

Burger,

My glow screen is 24 volt, and i think you're right 14 secs in the FSM for 24 volt.
But, I am running it on 12 volts through an aftermarket relay/timer I had set for 20 secs, which I think is what the FSM gives for the 12 volt setup. Eventually I will run it using a momentary switch like Mike Forbes (and others) did. It's well below freezing here mostly all day and even colder at night.

Thanks

For A & C terminals I'm guessing that they are the actual connection points to the glowscreen(s). The terminals the wires from the relays connect to are just insulated studs.

Thanks Mike,

So far 2 days with my setup and batteries are good, and starting in the morning is MUCH better/faster. BTW, I picked up a mini-NC switch at radio shack like yours. 3 terminals on the back, NC/COM/NO. Which 2 terminals did you use? Thanks for the nice idea too!

NC and COM. Put a multimeter across and you should install the switch into the yellow lead off the timer under the dash between the NC and COM terminals on the switch. So when pushing it the yellow lead is forced open (no continuity) and when in normal operation the yellow lead is continuous and operates as designed by Toyota.

hope that helps,
mike
