Turn signal won't blink.

Hello Guys,
installed my new rear combo lights and when i move my turning indicator for a left turn, i hear one blink/click(from under the dash somewhere) and the light on the r/signal stays on. Move the knob to the right turn, i hear one blink/click and the right side light stays on. no front fenders on so i can't check the front indicators. Any thoughts? Could it be that i don't have the front indictors hooked up yet(sounds stupid, but i thought i would ask)?

chech the size of the bulbs, if they are the small ones then switch them out for the regular size..
common problem with the after market lights..

Blinker fluid low?

Check light grounds too, gotta make sure the housings ground to the bumper.

Hey,
Plug the front turn signals in. The stock non digital flasher unit needs a load to function properly. If you replaced any of the turn signals with LEDs the flasher will not have enough load to function correctly. The stock Toyota flasher unit is very sensitive to under/over voltage and will toast very quickly in an overvoltage situation. Luckily any 2 wire flasher relay will work just fine, 'bout $2.00 at the NAPA store.
Hola
eric

X2 Same with Nissan 24V. One bulb was burnt out and caused the flasher not to work properly because it didn't have enough load. Took me a while to figure out and I presumed I needed a new flasher. On a whim I changed the burnt out bulb and no problems since then. Gotta love simple fixes.

O'kay. All great info, thanks. Hope to get the rest of the front end painted by next week so i can hook th erest of the lights up. Could just plug in the fronts off harness to verify. These aftermarket r/lights came from Roodogs in Aussy. Therefore they had 12v bulbs. But i did replace with 24v bulbs. Not sure about smaller bulbs as they each had two small, single pin bulbs(reverse and turn signal), and one larger(dual element-brake/tail) that was in the middle. I will recheck and verify. Thanks again

As long as the Wattage is the same you should be fine. I know that the Japanese market 12V bulbs are a lower wattage and have to be changed out in BC to pass the government inspection (although not every inspector actually looks for this).
