Hey Diesel guru's,
I've got myself into a situation that i'm trying to resolve.
My truck has been running great forever, never an issue.
The other day i was driving on the highway, and was going decently well.
In the morning i woke up and drove it, but lacked a ton of low end power.
Once the trubo spools up, the power is there, but anything below in rev range, it's so gutless and slow.
At about 2500rpm in neutral, the truck shakes pretty bad.
On top of all of this, the truck doesn't sound like a diesel any more. it got really quiet all of a sudden?
could it be just a clogged fuel filter, a bad tank of diesel, or is it more geared towards the injectors or pump?
it's just odd that it suddenly happened..
It is a 5spd cruiser too....
any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would have thought a clogged filter would have more effect at higher revs when the turbo comes in as the IP fires more fuel into the cylinders under these conditions.Could be bad fuel I guess but in my past experience bad deisel usually makes the engine (combustion process) noisier.The fuel and filter are easy enough to check/change though.With your symptoms and the way they have suddenly appeared I'd be looking at the IP.
