Brushes for 12v 3B starter

Anyone had luck finding brushes for a 12V 3B starter. I found instructions by brown bear on how to diagnose the starter. Essentially just tap it while someone tries to turn it over. Worked like a charm.

I pulled the starter and took it apart and sure enough the positive brushes are down to nubs (still touching the armature, but barley).

I am going to swing by the local Alt shop to see if they can replace them, but IM not optimistic.

Searched online for a brush kit and found one (maybe) from Rockauto. I really just want to hear from someone who replaced them so I know for sure I am buying the right part.

Thanks in advance!

all of the starter small parts are available at your local Napa store (or other parts store).

If not, then we can supply them for you.

Right you were Radd, I actually pickup up the brush set with holder from a local starter alternator shop "Texas Alternator and Starter".

The rebuild went pretty smooth, I had to solder two of the brushes to the field coil and I have never been good at soldering!

Anyway she starts better than she ever has, it is amazing how the extra force helps it start FAST, that is something indicative to dielsels I suppose.

Here is the part number that was printed on the box in case someone else cares to rebuild thier 3B starter: A367115
