turbo'd intercooled BJ 70's anyone?

Hey guys, new to your site. I have some shots of 2 differrent BJ 70's that we added a turbo and intercooler. We've done it two ways. The top mount (cutting holes in BJ hoods is always a rush!) and front mount. Someone tell me how to post up photos and I'll get er done!

pics are easy,

hit "go advanced"," manage attachments"," browse"," upload"...

you may have to resize the pics but it's fairly self explanatory once you start.

Canadian bJ70 85-86, with factory A/C systems, the pump is a snowperformance methanol/injection .Both cruisers have now front mount intercoolers, from a 740 volvo; one with extra juice, methanol injection.

OK, so you installed the a/c from a 7X series into the CDN 70?

Have you dyno'd the 3b after the mods? Does the meth injection make a difference?

Yes, A/c from a 70 series, the methanol/injection gave a extra performance, specially going in a long hill with the A/c on. No dyno, sorry.I found that using 40% methanol(99) and 60 % water gives a perfect combination for air mixture. You can actually calibrate the pump timing so it can have max flow at lower PSI( very helpfull for offroading) to keep egts low.

Sounds cool, I have been thinking about meth injection for a while now, might give it a go on my truck , done just about everything else

Nice work!

I have used for 65000 km, with 0 issues, just happy faces, even with the pump under water(river crossing) great performance..

The seal material is actually a Jeep door seal. Just hit your local salvage yard and pull any bit of good weatherstripping from a SUV hatchback and you're in! I'll post more photos tomorrow. The ones above are all that I had left in my camera when the customer came to get the front mounted one! I have install shots at the shop on the laptop. Spallet's is the one with the top set up. He urged me to get these posted, sorry for the delay, they are worth the wait. -atomic

We put a custom made radiator on the front mount intercooler set up to avoid any overheating problems in the Texas heat, 5 row ,special panel design to maximize heat exchange...

I've had both set up in my Bj70, top a front mount, finally using the front mount. Both worked great, but the front mount was a little better in lowering egts and with the custom radiator, O overheating problems.
Tapage, I had a friend that used a front mount intercooler in 60(2h,A/c), saab intercooler

How and where ..

Where more than where fit the intercooler .. coz are not the same thing using a front mounted intercooler here in Panamá, as same as using the same setup in Alberta Canada ..

I have really not much space in my Tencha .. front AC condenser, Aux Fan and PS oil cooler ..

We just cut 2.25 inches out of the fan shroud and weld it back together to fit the intercooler
