BJ60 rad hoses

I had the radiator in my 84 BJ60 rebuilt as a four row core (cost came to ~$335 with tax). Looking at the hoses I need to replace the upper and lower rad hoses. Local parts places only have an upper universal flex hose listed, which I won't be using.

Anyone have a suitable aftermarket source/part # for replacements? Something that can be found at the local Lordco or Napa? I searched and saw a reference to the rad hose from an 87 F150 w 302 being a suitable lower hose replacement; can anyone confirm? I see 4wheelauto packages Gates hoses in their kits, but I'd prefer to buy local if possible. The part # thread has an Aus part #'s from Mackay hoses. I've looked at the Dayco hose listings by flange diameter and have a few potential numbers but any help on this would be appreciated.

hoses

I presume you need upper hose for 3B in your 1984 BJ60? If so my search at NAPA says you need a # NBH-FF257 @ $11.49,Gas -2f is # NBH7096 @ $16.49.You can check this online at napa

Yup, 3B engine, both rad hoses.

Looking at the product description, the NBH7096 looks right for the upper hose in this application. I'll measure to see if the specified 15" neck to neck length is enough.

Also found the CH1336 part number cross references to the Gates 21336 for a lower hose.

The BJ60 has both the waterpump outlet and the thermostat housing outlet on the left side of the engine. I think some 40 series have upper hose on the right, lower on the left. The Mackay Automotive Hose catalogue http://www.mackayrubber.com.au/pdf/HoseWeb.pdf lists different part numbers for each of the 3B applications (from Lostmarbles post in part numbers thread).

The only listings for these trucks locally is for the heater hose elbows. Upper rad hose is listed as universal flex hose, which kinda look hokey IMO. The parts department at Toyota here in town don't know squat about cruisers and they jack up the prices big time for the specialty market.

I have a couple of hoses on order that should arrive today, I will post up if they work.

We have these hoses in stock - give us a call at the shop and we can have them on the way to you today.

250 597 2500

Note that Aussie part numbers do not cross with Canadian suppliers (and they can't get them in any case).

This hose crosses to napa NBH8037. I picked one up yesterday and it will not work on a BJ60.

Put some time into finding some common cut to length hoses for the 60. Two reasons, I am trying to keep to a budget on this truck and I wanted parts that could be found over the shelf at any parts store, anywhere I'm travelling.

I used the Dayco online product by dimensions to find potential candidate hoses, and went over to Lordco. They brought in a bunch of hoses and I selected the best two. The upper hose I found is an exact replacement after cutting off one elbow. The lower hose worked after some trimming but I'm not as happy with the fit, though it should be ok. I used 70627 for upper and 70636 lower, cost about $35 for the pair.
